The bag consists of three main sections: the base, the body, and the handles. Below you will find detailed instructions for each of the parts. At first, it might seem like a lot of complicated work, but don’t worry as it is actually a very easy and quick bag to make!

How to crochet the base of the bag

The base of the bag consists of the foundation chain and two other rounds. Follow the instructions below to understand how to work with your crochet hook.

The Foundation Chain

  • Ch 20. [20]
  • Add stitch markers in the front loops of the 1st, the 19th, and the 20th chain.

The First Round

We will crochet on both sides of the chain forming the first round. Read the instructions on where to insert the crochet hook attentively.

  • Step 1: Skip the chain closest to the hook. It’s the 20th chain with a stitch marker.
  • Step 2: For the next chain – insert your crochet hook under the back loop of the chain and under the loop that is on the other side of the chain.
  • Step 3: Make a single crochet.
  • Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the next 17 chains.
After step 4 – one chain left
Step 5: After increase in the back loop
  • Step 5: In the last chain insert your hook under the back loop only and make a single crochet increase.
